Keir's Ten Test-Taking Tips

  1. Budget your time so you can answer every question.

  2. Do not waste time on questions to which you do not know the answer; make your best guess and move on to another question.

  3. Do not jump to conclusions until you have read the entire question. Read all options to every question before deciding on your answer.

  4. Read a question carefully to discover the intention of the question so you answer what is asked.

  5. Pay attention to the form of the question, so you select from the choices in the right way.

  6. Pay attention to word clues in the question and choices.

  7. Use the process of elimination to narrow the choices.

  8. Use your common sense, experience, and knowledge.

  9. Do not make wholesale changes in your answers. You should change answers only if you have a good reason for doing so.

  10. Leave no question unanswered, even if you have to guess, and never mark more than one answer to a question.
