Series 55 Study Tips

  • Study for approximately 22 to 32 hours prior to the Series 55 exam.
    • OTC Market and Market Maker Activities - 5-7 hours
    • OTC Trading Rules - 4-6 hours
    • Automated Execution and Trading Systems - 4-6 hours
    • Trade Reporting Obligations and ACT Rules - 4-6 hours
    • Securities Industry Regulations - 5-7 hours
  • Plan to spend approximately 12 to 15 hours on final exams.
  • Plan to sit for the Series 55 exam within 3 to 5 weeks.
  • Score a minimum of 76% to 78% on all quizzes and exams before moving to the next topic.
  • Read each section, then test your understanding level with the quiz provided. Review ALL questions and detailed explanations. Once you have mastered the topic you should move on to the following topic. Continue this practice through the chapter.
  • When you reach the end of each chapter, utilize the final exams found in the back of the textbook. 
  • Keep track of all scores from all section quizzes, chapter exams and final exams.
