The Keir textbooks for CFP® courses are designed to be used in both certificate and Bachelor Degree programs. The financial planning textbooks are uniquely designed to cover all topics and learning objectives outlined by the CFP Board. In addition, these textbooks contain material taught in many college and university courses to provide a thorough education to aspiring financial planners.
Keir textbooks provide up-to-date coverage of all financial planning topics. Students will find examples that give real world reference, and they will encounter practice questions interspersed throughout the text to reinforce learning and to assist comprehension of complex concepts. Charts, tables, and exhibits are included to emphasize relationships among important points. Summaries help to organize and reinforce learning, and study tips are inserted at various points to give students the benefit of our educational expertise. At the end of each topic, students will have 25 to 40 multiple choice application questions to reinforce concepts and to apply their knowledge to financial planning problems.
Each financial planning textbook contains a minimum of 12 cases that present the facts of different client situations, and each case is accompanied by multiple choice questions. The cases range from a few paragraphs to the 10 page comprehensive cases with financial statements, client goals and objectives, and planning assumptions. The short cases allow students to build their ability to answer case questions. The comprehensive cases require students to integrate various elements of the client’s finances, and students work with questions as difficult as those appearing on the CFP® Certification Examination.
In addition to the course textbooks, Keir Educational Resources provides many supplemental materials for each course. Students tell us that the supplements help them to absorb important information and that they benefit from additional practice with the multiple choice questions. For instructors teaching these courses, Keir Educational Resources offers a variety of instructor resources to reduce the amount of time spent with class preparation and to increase student engagement during class. Instructors should contact our office for information regarding these items.
