Keir’s Topic Reviews for the CFA® Examination supplement the curriculum developed and published by the CFA® Institute. Topic Reviews are not replacement materials, but are complementary, time-saving study notes and tools that assist in examination preparation by increasing the candidate’s comprehension and retention of knowledge in the key areas of a specific topic. Keir’s unique approach of presenting the curriculum by major topics, rather than by Study Session or Readings, allows candidates to individually select supplementary materials, according to their particular strengths and weaknesses, by a topic in its entirety. Many candidates find that studying by topic areas is a more comfortable approach to, and thus a more productive method of, examination preparation.
Any candidate for the CFA® Examination is likely to find Keir’s supplementary materials and unique approach useful. Candidates with certain academic, work, or prior examination experiences may find the Topic Reviews particularly beneficial. Candidates who possess a solid background in finance, including an exposure to financial accounting and reporting, may appreciate the condensed format and nature of the study notes and the identification of key concepts, theories, and important formulas and their applications. Such candidates, already employed in the investment management industry, may find the time-efficient, yet comprehensive review materials and tools particularly worthwhile. Individual Topic Reviews may also be very appropriate for candidates who have previously taken an examination but were not successful due to weaknesses in one or two major topic areas. These candidates may obtain the supplementary materials for an efficient review of those topics for which they were successful or as additional study resources for those topics for which they were not successful.
In addition to the Topic Reviews, Keir also produces and distributes Simulated Exams that mirror the actual time and coverage of the CFA® Examination, as well as Time Value of Money Keystrokes volume that provides practice materials for time value of money questions using the calculators required by the CFA® Institute.
