About the Series 6 Examination

The Series 6 exam is comprised of 100 multiple choice questions which you have 2 hours and 15 minutes to complete. You must correctly answer 70% of the questions to receive your Series 6 license.

The Series 6 is a closed book examination. Scratch paper will be provided by the proctor. You will not be allowed to use personal calculators, but testing centers will provide calculators upon request.

The following guide will help you to determine the number of study hours needed in order to master the Series 6 exam.

• Spend approximately 10 hours in study on chapters 1-3 of the Keir Series 6 training material
  
  
• Spend approximately 15 hours in study on chapters 4-7 of the Keir Series 6 training material
  
  
• Spend approximately 7 hours in study on chapters 8-10 of the Keir Series 6 training material
  
  
• Spend approximately 10 hours in study on chapters 11-13 of the Keir Series 6 training material
  
  
• Allow yourself enough time to test through a minimum of five final exams prior to sitting for the Series 6 examination
  
  
• Score a minimum of 82% on every Series 6 quiz and exam in the Series 6 training material before moving on to the next section or chapter
