How many questions are on the exam? How long is the exam? How is the exam set up? How much time can I expect to spend on studies? Do I need a class? Where do I take the Series 6 Examination? Is there an examination fee for the Series 6? Will I be allowed to take a calculator into the exam center? Will I be allowed to take paper into the exam center? Do I have to be sponsored to take this examination? What is the required pass rate for the Series 6 Examination?

How many questions are on the exam? 100 multiple choice questions – you should prepare for an additional 3 to 10 questions on your examination. These questions are “pre-test” or “guinea pig” type questions, you will be provided additional time for these questions, and the score from these questions will NOT be counted against you. Top How long is the exam? 2 hours and 15 minutes. Top How is the exam set up? You should anticipate a “bell-curve” exam. In other words, the exam will start out at an easy level, and as you progress through the exam, the test questions will become more difficult after you reach the middle. The test questions will then gradually become easier. Top How much time can I expect to spend on studies? You should plan on spending approximately 40 hours in study and 10-12 hours on final exams. Top Am I allowed to take a calculator into the exam center? No, however, the exam center will provide a calculator upon request. Top Will I be allowed to take paper into the exam center? No, however, the exam center will provide scratch paper, upon request. Top Do I have to be sponsored to take this examination? Yes, you must be sponsored in order to take this exam.
