Read each section - Review all questions and detailed explanations, continue this process throughout the chapters.

Review the "Summary" found at the end of each chapter.

Use the "Glossary of Terms," found in the back of the book.

Score a minimum of 82 to 85% on ALL exams and quizzes.

Take regular breaks, about 15 minutes for 2 hours of study.

How many questions are on the exam? 125 multiple-choice questions. Be prepared to see an additional three to ten questions on your examination. These questions are “pre-test” or “trial” type questions, the score for these questions are NOT counted against you.

How long is the exam? 3 hours and 1/4 hours.

How is the exam set up? You should anticipate a “bell-curve” exam. Which means the exam will start out at an easier level, as you progress through the exam, approaching the middle of the exam, test questions will become more difficult. As you near the end of the exam questions will once again become easier.

How much time can I expect to spend on studies? You should plan on spending approximately 30 to 40 hours in study. Keir Educational Resources strongly recommends you complete the Series 4 study within 3 to 5 weeks.

Where do I take the Series 4 examination? The examination is a proctored exam and must be taken at a qualified exam center. To locate the one nearest you, please visit www.prometric.com

Is there a fee for the Series 4? Yes, the cost is $105

Are you allowed to take a calculator into the exam center? No, however, the exam center will provide a calculator upon request.

Will I be allowed to take paper into the exam center? No, however, the exam center will provide scratch paper.

Do I have to be sponsored to take this examination? Yes

Are there pre-requisites? Yes you must have your Series 7, Series 17, Series 37, Series 38 or Series 62 (with Series 42) to qualify to sit for the Series 4 exam.

What is the required pass rate for the Series 4 examination? You must score at least a 72% or higher on the examination to pass.
